It’s tough to be a kid. Especially a kid in Middle School. Every kid has his or her own challenges and my son’s specific challenge is having to live with celiac disease (he was diagnosed at age 11 in 5th Grade). Jonah has to plan ahead when going out with friends or participating in any after school activities. He also has had to learn to speak up and ask questions whenever there is food involved. Jonah likes to take lemons and make lemonade (all gluten free of course!), so he is using what he has learned to advocate for Celiac Disease Awareness and to help educate other people (whether they have the disease or not).
This is Jonah’s corner of the cafe to share living with celiac disease from his perspective. Stay tuned. 🙂
