DIY Photo Booth & Photography:
I just found out through becoming a Shutterfly affiliate that there is an awesome company called BorrowedLenses.com where you can rent photography and videography equipment! AND for DIY Photo Booths, you can rent backdrops and backdrop stands! Wish I had discovered this before my son’s Bar Mitzvah but I will definitely utilize now! They even have GoPro cameras and equipment to rent! I am now a proud affiliate and I know I will be spreading the word about this great concept!
Giveaways & Favors:
If you are in search of GIANT candy as dance floor giveaways or you are planning on having a Candy Theme Party, check out IT’SUGAR! Really cool novelty items! The 5 pound gummy bear is amazing! Also check out the great shirts!
Look at Shindigz.com and StumpsParty.com for their Party Favors too.
DIY Project Materials (Crafting Supplies):
If you need Fabric for your DIY projects, Annie’s is the place to go. Annie’s also offers online classes for all types of crafting projects as well as lots of products for your DIY projects. Be sure to check out Fabric.com too for their huge assortment of fabric.
I love canvas prints so much. I have several in my house and I had one made of my son for the sign-in table at the Bar Mitzvah party. We also used it the day of the service next to the basket of yarmulkes. There are a couple of great companies that I have used before. You really can’t go wrong with them. Excellent prices and quality. 🙂 Check out CanvasDiscount and CanvasWorld.
Photo Books/Sign-in Books:
You will end up with a lot of photos from the B’nai Mitzvah festivities. You will (eventually) need to make a photo album. I love creating photo albums online! My two favorite companies are Mixbook and Shutterfly. So many gorgeous options!
Invitations/Save-the-Date/Thank You Cards:
Check out eInvite.com for some gorgeous printed Bar and Bat Mitzvah invitations. Really beautiful products! They have so many choices for B’nai Mitzvahs. Save the Date cards, Invitations, Thank You cards and All-in-one cards. You can save a lot of money by ordering online from a company like eInvite rather than hiring someone to design your card for you.
Also look at evite.com for electronic save-the-date announcements, invitations and thank you cards. You can save a lot of money by sending online invitations and it is becoming more popular. Some people opt to do online Save-the-Date cards but send printed Invitations. It is completely your personal preference!
Minted.com is another company offering beautiful printed cards for your B’nai Mitzvah. “Celebrate the momentous occasion in style with our unique Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah invitations. Choose one of our photo Bar and Bat Mitzvah invitations to make it your own. Our Bar and Bat Mitzvah invitations are created exclusively for Minted by our community of independent designers and are beautifully printed on your choice of luxurious signature paper, 100% recycled matte stationery paper or gorgeous pearlescent paper.” (See “Table Decorations” below for additional Minted information.)
TinyPrints.com offers a really nice selection of cards of all types. This is a sister companies of Shutterfly so you know you cannot go wrong with the quality and service that you will receive. You will also find some great coupon codes for all of their products.
And of course Zazzle.com is full of choices for Cards as well as almost every kind of customized gift item you can think of. So many ways to create and personalize your items. The service is consistently great too which is always a plus!

Logo Creators and DIY Websites:
Thinking about having a Logo made for your son or daughter’s Mitzvah? The Logo Company is an excellent, professional company to use. You can get a logo designed for under $200. This is the way to go if you really don’t know what you want and you need a lot of creative help. If you know what you want but just need the actual facilitation of making the logo, you can find someone on fiverr.com.
Many people are opting to create their own Mitzvah Website to hold all the details for the simcha such as service and party times, maps, etiquette, RSVP tab, photos, mitzvah project, etc. If you create your own website, Wix.com is very user-friendly especially if this is the first time you have created a site.
If you build a site, you will need a domain name (such as yourchild’snameBarMitzvah.com) and you will also need Website Hosting. MyHosting.com is a great company to use to host your site.
Table Decorations & Paper Goods:
If you are doing assigned seating, you will need place cards. You can make them yourself or buy them online if you are not so crafty (or lack time to make them). Minted.com is a great site for many paper products. Many items in their wedding selection can be used for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. An example is the place card below. It is “meant” for a wedding but could easily be used for B’nai Mitzvahs. They also have matching Table Numbers, Menus, Stamps, Programs and Invitations! Beautiful! Be sure to check out their Invitations, etc. as there is a great selection of B’nai Mitzvah items on their website.
I also like PaperMart.com for their extensive supply of Paper Goods. They have all kinds of bags and containers, shipping supplies, paper (wrapping paper, tissue paper, etc.), plastic (bows, containers, rhinestones), fabric (chair sashes, fabric bags), tape (decorative, washi, floral), ribbon (tassels, sequins), food packaging (think candy buffet or end-of-night food treats), floral supplies, craft supplies, and lots of party items. So great for all your DIY needs.
Another Wedding site that has great reception/party items is WeddingPaperDivas.com. You will find DIY menus and table cards there at a great price.
Aviary and Ink Place Cards
Some of my best finds and ideas came from Wedding sites. There are so many items you can buy for your party/reception on a wedding website that you can use at a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Personalized favors, table decorations, candles, etc. One of my favorite sites is MyWeddingFavors.com. Beautiful selection! Just keep an open mind and see if you can find something that will match your theme or color selection. If you are doing a beach theme, for example, you will find lots of really cute beach decor items. Also check out PaperMart.com for their extensive party decorations (balloons, decorative sprays, paper lanterns, etc.).
Shindigz.com is another great Mitzvah resource that offers tons of DIY Party Decorations, Invitations and Party Favors. So many Personalized items to choose from!
For Banners, Photo Booth signage & props plus lots of other great decorations like table decor and favors check out StumpsParty.com. So many options!
